SCMPC’s trainers are academically qualified in the respective area within the Procurement and Supply discipline. The trainers are also industry practitioners with more than 20 years of relevant work experience. The trainers are also members of Professional Bodies including CIPS. One of our trainers, Mr. Edward Ang Hock Heng is a Fellow Member of CIPS. Quite a number of our trainers are PhD and DBA holders and candidates who undertake collaborative research with the universities.

Mr. Edward Ang is a professional in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management who has been working in the field of Purchasing and Supply Management for more than 20 years. He obtained his Fellow Membership from The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) United Kingdom. He holds an MBA degree majoring in Operations Management from Charles Sturt University, Australia and obtained a Bachelor Degree (Hons) in Business Administration from The University Bolton, United Kingdom. Mr. Edward has been working in a manufacturing industry for more than 28 years. He is involved in production operations, purchasing, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, shipping, production planning and continuous improvement projects. He has been trained in Total Quality Management program and was appointed as a facilitator in TQM projects in the entire company.
Through his years in the company, he managed procurement turnover of half a billion Ringgit Malaysia annually. He initiated a cost saving project for the company and achieved more than RM30 million savings annually. Mr. Edward Ang also has a vast experience in managing the organisation specializing in professional training and development. In 2000, he was the organizing chairman of 11 Asia Pacific Conference in Supply Chain Management held in Equatorial Hotel, Penang. Mr. Edward is one of the few recognised experts and professionals in this field in Malaysia. He has been invited to give public lectures and has good and extensive networks with organisations and professionals bodies within and outside the country
Mr. Nachiappan S/O Suppiah has obtained his Masters in Logistics Management from RMIT, Australia, holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (Transport and Logistics Management) from University RMIT, Australia. He is also an associate member of Institute of Material Management, UK, member of British Production and Inventory Control Society (BPICS), UK, associate member of the Institute of Logistics & Distribution UK and a student member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply UK.
He has been working in Multinational Manufacturing companies for 23 years. In the manufacturing industry, he had worked in various departments, Warehousing, Shipping, Planning and Logistics, Inventory Control, Distribution and Service Centre, Marketing & Sales, Purchasing and Materials Management. His last appointment was a Vice President in Supply Chain & Customer Service for Asia Region.
With more than 23 years of experience in the manufacturing industries and having gone through the entire organisation in a manufacturing environment, he is well placed to assist organisations in taking a quantum leap in managing Purchasing, Supply Chain & Materials Management. He is a part time trainer for in house seminars and a part time trainer with Australian Logistics Academy.
Dr. Chong, a professional engineer graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College in 1977 and had a three-year stint in production and sales in engineering and oil exploration sectors. After graduating with a Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology in 1982, he worked as a management consultant in an international consultant firm specializing in feasibility studies and productivity improvement projects. Among the notable projects which he was involved in are the First Malaysian Industrial Master Plan, the feasibility studies of the construction of MPPJ, Lot 10, Regent Hotel, etc. He is a Professional and Chartered Engineer under the Malaysian and United Kingdom’s Institutes of Engineers respectively and a qualified Methods-Time-Measurement practitioner. He completed his Doctorate of Business Administration from University of Newcastle, Australia in January 2006
For the past 20 years, Dr. Chong has been involved in turn-around jobs for 10 different companies as a CEO/COO. His senior managerial experiences are in manufacturing, marketing, turning around companies as well as training and consulting work in quality and change management. He has vast knowledge and experience in the different types of negotiations locally and internationally involving joint ventures, merger and acquisitions, product agencies, unions, organizational conflicts, etc. His training/consultancy specialties are in the management fields of Negotiation, People, Quality, Organizational Change and Strategy. He is currently conducting Master programs in Cross Cultural Management and Negotiations in Monash University and University of Newcastle.
Dr. Chong does not believe in imparting theoretical concepts but prefers to share his real life experiences leading the participants or organisations through the processes of managerial skill development to ensure positive transfer of training. His courses are practical, down-to-earth, containing current tools and ideas that can be easily implemented. His aim is to ensure that participants take home tools, techniques, concepts and pragmatic approaches that will assist their professional and personal development for greater heights. To this end his courses strive to achieve this.
